1.The Product was colorless crystal or white crystalline powder with the relative density of 2.34 .The melting point was 150-190oC(decomposition). The product had a flavor of sulfur dioxide and soluble in water with acidic aqueous solution, it was not soluble in ethanol. Sulfur dioxide was released from acidic solution and oxidized to sulfate in the air.

 

 

2.Potassium metabisulfite is the most commonly used sterilization antioxidant materials in Europe and the United States.The content of sulfur dioxide is 57% with anti-oxidizing, sterilization and to promote the growth of benificial microbianisms. It has become an important means to ensure the quality of wine, which will won’t be replaced. Potassium metabisulfite has more than 100 years in the history of wine. and be added to wine permitted by law. 

 

 

 

As antioxidant, bleaches,preservatives, it has used not only in Wine but also in Photographic, industry, chemical and so on.

The products could be used as dechlorination agent in the production of potassium hydroxide ion-exchange membrane and developing protective agent in photographic industry.
